## KMAX Product List

![Apprenticeship](https://networkreporter.com/user/pages/02.products/01.kmax-product-list/Apprenticeship-512x374.jpg "Apprenticeship")

All KMAX products share the same basic functionality, user interface, and application programming interfaces (APIs.)

The KMAX versions differ, not by function, but by performance and network interface types.

 Note

Please see [KMAX Functionality ](https://networkreporter.com/products/kmax-functionality)on this website for details about what KMAX can do.

All KMAX platforms use solid-state storage - there are no rotating disk drives. Some platforms use passive cooling, some have cooling fans.

 Note

The speeds of the network interfaces represent the bits-per-second rate at which bits are clocked onto, or off of, the network medium. The actual frame (packet) per second performance of KMAX may not be able to fully saturate that capacity, especially when the traffic load is composed of small frames.

### KMAX Versions With 2.5Gigabit/second RJ45 Ethernet Interfaces

#### KMAX-C

[![KMAX-C Back](https://networkreporter.com/user/pages/02.products/01.kmax-product-list/kmax-c-back-tb-256x149.png "KMAX-C Back")](https://networkreporter.com/products/kmax-product-list/kmax-c-back.jpg)KMAX-C is the most popular KMAX model.

KMAX-C has the same network impairment functions as other KMAX models.

KMAX-C is for users with copper/RJ45 based Ethernet at speeds up to 2.5gigabits/second.

KMAX-C has somewhat lower performance than other KMAX models, but at a lower price.

KMAX-C performance is ample for many users.

**Interfaces:**

- Management: Qty 1 - 2.5Gbit/second RJ45
- Data Qty 2 - 2.5Gbit/second RJ45
- Unused: Qty 1 - 2.5Gbit/second RJ45

KMAX-C is powered by an Intel N5105 Celeron® processor. KMAX-C has Intel i226 2.5Gbit network interfaces.\[1\]\[2\]

KMAX-C contains an NVME M.2 SSD for storage, HDMI and DisplayPort video interfaces (as well as DisplayPort over USB-C.)

KMAX-C is passively cooled. (However, some units were constructed with a fan.)

### KMAX Versions With 2.5Gigabit/second RJ45 Ethernet Interfaces ***And*** Two SFP+ Sockets (10Gps)

#### KMAX-G

[![KMAX-G Back](https://networkreporter.com/user/pages/02.products/01.kmax-product-list/kmax-g-back-tb-256x193.png "KMAX-G Back")](https://networkreporter.com/products/kmax-product-list/kmax-g-back.jpg)KMAX-G has the same network impairment functions as other KMAX models.

KMAX-G is for users with **either** copper/RJ45 based Ethernet at speeds up to 2.5gigabits/second or fiber optic links at speeds up to 10gigabits/second.

**Interfaces:**

- Management: Qty 1 - 2.5Gbit/second RJ45
- Data:
    - Qty 2 - 2.5Gbit/second RJ45
    - Qty 2 - SFP+ Socket
- Unused: Qty 1 2.5Gbit/second RJ45

KMAX-G has a quiet cooling fan.

### KMAX Versions With 1Gigabit/second RJ45 Ethernet Interfaces

#### KMAX-MM

KMAX-MM is a small unit, roughly the size of a paperback book (for those who remember when books were printed on paper.)

 Note

KMAX-MM is nearly out of stock.

KMAX-MM is passively cooled.

### KMAX Versions With 2.5Gigabit/second RJ45 Ethernet Interfaces ***Or*** Two SFP+ Sockets (10Gps)

#### KMAX-P

KMAX-P is larger than other KMAX versions; KMAX-P is constructed using a desktop-style PC case and motherboard.

KMAX-P supports either two 2.5Gigabit/second RJ45 Ethernet Interfaces OR two SFP+ Sockets. Changing from one to the other requires that the unit be opened and a PCI-express card be swapped out.

KMAX-P has a cooling fan.

 Note

KMAX-P is built to order; because of the present shortage of memory, storage, and computer parts, delivery times are extended

For most customers, we recommend KMAX-G rather than KMAX-P.
